Olive oils schools in the Mediterranean

Festivaldelgusto along with their partner  Olivaverde  are always interested in promoting small food, wine and olive oil producers from the Mediterranean region and are pleased that in 2014 we are launching a series of dedicated olive oil schools in Italy and the Islands of Malta and Gozo. The "schools" will include workshops where there will be an olive oil producer teaching clients about all the stages of  the cultivation and production of fine extra, from the harvesting of the olives right through to the bottling and marketing of the oils. Other classes will include talks and demonstrations by actual olive oil producers and tasting experts where our clients will learn the techniques of tasting olive oils from different regions of Italy and also from the Island of Malta. Clients will also visit the olive groves and mills where the olive oils we feature are produced to see how the different olive oils are made, where possible all the olive oils used and promoted in our &qu

Festivaldelgusto Norfolk

Our aim at Festivaldelgusto  is to assist clients and friends who wish to hold artisan food festivals and fairs both in Italy, Malta and also in the UK, and we are now pleased to be planning with two of our friends to hold two events in Norfolk in the spring and summer of 2014. We are also in the early stages of planning several festival events in Italy next year, one will be held in Le Marche and possibly two others in the Italian regions of Puglia and also Sicily, these will be in addition to our planned event in Malta next May. At one of our UK events we will be helping the owners of a popular restaurant with a large market and food fair near the Norfolk town of Swaffham, this will be held on Saturday 19th April over the Easter holiday period. The event will be on land near the main restaurant building which is located near the main road from Thetford and London to the North Norfolk coast which is a popular route with many travelling from London for holidays in Norfolk. Also many

Festivaldelgusto events

We at Festivaldelgusto were very pleased with our first festival in Le Marche last month and we do hope to hold another in that particular region of Italy at the same time next year. We will now be looking to attract a much larger audience for our chosen producers and suppliers and it is hoped that all the producers who took part in our popular Festival this year will also be available to take part in 2014. Our friends and contacts in Le Marche helped make our first Italian festival a great success and we hope that all who took part found the event a very useful business opportunity, we also know that several of the producers have gained orders from some of the trade buyers who were present. We are now looking at opportunities to hold similar Festivals  in other regions of central and southern Italy and have been approached by several business contacts both in Umbria, Tuscany and more recently Puglia. The beautiful Italian region of Puglia is one of the most attractive and interestin

Festivaldelgusto evening in Senigallia

We held our first Festivaldelgusto  in the Marche region of eastern Italy last Saturday evening and were really pleased that this "taster" event proved so popular both with the invited local producers and also the guests. The setting for the festival was the country house hotel and agriturismo, the Locanda Strada della Marina near the village of Scapezzano close to the Adriatic coast and the resort of Senigallia and the weather proved perfect for this prestigious outside event. Many months of planning had gone into arranging the event and much of the work had been carried out by Silvia Venturini and Andrea Tomassetti in order to bring together a wide range of local Marchigiani producers of wines, olive oils and other specialist foods such as honeys, chocolate, jams and liquers and artisan breads. We were also very grateful to Stefania of the Locanda Strada della Marina for allowing us to hold our first festival at such a lovely venue and in such beautiful surroundings in t

Slow Food supporters of Festivaldelgusto

As well the many small producers and food related businesses taking part in the first Festivaldelgusto  we are also pleased to have the support of other interested groups and organisations including two very proactive and well known Slow Food groups from the UK,  Slow Food Norwich  and  Slow Food London Slow Food London currently is the only campaigning Slow Food body in the UK and actively responds to every European and national consultation on food and agriculture. Slow Food Norwich also campaigns for good local foods and much of its time is spent in promoting small local producers and also retailers in north Norfolk but it is hoped that a much larger area to include much of East Anglia will be covered by this very proactive group in 2014. Slow Food London has recently embarked on a series of new initiatives with a busy schedule of events, talks and projects in and around the London area, these include a new accreditation scheme for outstanding food businesses, and partnerships wit

Festival del Gusto in Senigallia this September

The Festival del Gusto events are primarily a celebration of small ethical producers of food, wine and olive oil producers in Italy, Malta and also the UK. These events aim to bring together producers, consumers and also trade representatives in an informal atmosphere to network and learn more about the produce that is available from them.  The initial Festival on September 14th to be held at the Locanda Strada della Marina  near the Adriatic resort of Senigallia will be a unique occasion to meet small artisan producers from the Le Marche region of eastern Italy and to taste some typical food, wine and olive oil from this very beautiful and unspoilt part of Italy. The Senigallia Festival will be a "taster event" and will be the first of a series of similar events to be held in Italy, Malta and the UK in 2014. The other Festivals will include an event in Cortona,Tuscany, one near Norwich in Norfolk this November and another in Valletta, Malta next May. Slow Food Norwich

Organic and Biodynamic Wine, Food and Olive oil producers

The Festivaldelgusto  being held near Senigallia in Le Marche on September 14th will be the first opportunity for many of the small artisan organic and biodynamic food, wine and olive oil producers from the Marche region to get together for a social and networking day. Most of the producers and guests will be from the central part of the region but some have been invited from the south and it will be an opportunity for most of them to meet for the first time and in some cases to attend this type of event. We hope that many other people interested in the promotion of ethical organic and biodynamic produce and also their means of production will also come to this initial event in Marche, as we believe that these types of food and wine will be increasingly popular with consumers in Italy in the future. Il Festivaldelgusto si terrà vicino Senigallia nelle Marche il 14 Settembre e sarà la prima occasione per molti dei piccoli produttori organici e biodinamici delle Marche di incontrarsi

Mezza Campagna Organic Market in Senigallia, Italy

Festival del gusto is all about getting small artisan Italian organic and biodynamic producers together to hold tastings, workshops and talks in a convivial setting and atmosphere, which also allows for some socialising at the same time as well. The ethos of Festival del Gusto means that we also spend time on promoting and marketing the same artisan producers both in Italy and in the UK, through events, festivals and markets. So we are pleased that our good friend and associate Andrea Tomassetti has now been instrumental in the setting up of a new type of market in the beautiful Adriatic resort of Senigallia in the Le Marche region of Italy. The market will focus on organic food, including olive oils, natural products, fruits and vegetables, marmalades and preserves, and will be open to all small organic local Marche producers who wish to take part. Festival del Gusto in Le Marche, Italy

Our Festival del Gusto in Le Marche this September will be a gathering of organic and biodynamic food, wine and olive oil producers from the Le Marche region of eastern Italy as well as artisan producers and visitors from other parts of Italy, the UK, Holland and the USA. The Festival will be a chance for small artisan producers to meet, discuss ideas and network as well as trying the products from eight invited producers who will have their wine, olive oil, pasta, honey, cheeses and salumi to taste and sell. There will also be a chance to take part in workshops, classes and tastings throughout the afternoon before enjoying an evening meal prepared from the produce brought on the day by the producers. Festival del Gusto will be held just outside the Adriatic coastal resort of Senigallia in the centre of the Italian region of Le Marche and we are very happy to be able to hold it at the lovely country house, the  Locanda Strada della Marina . Olive oil schools in Italy

There are many small and large olive oil producers who offer tours and tastings at their estates and farms throughout Italy. But apart from large olive oil schools which offer classes on tasting and horticulture for producers and professional buyers there are very few dedicated olive oil schools solely aimed at the general public and small trade buyers. Organisations such as  ASSAM  in Le Marche and other similar bodies throughout Italy hold courses, teaching classes, workshops and certification services, these all being essential for professional olive oil producers. One of the aims of the Festival del Gusto is to help bring organic and biodynamic producers in Italy together with interested members of the public and organisations who wish to hear more about these increasingly important methods of production of our food and wine. Another important aim we have is to set up and run olive oil schools offering workshops, tasting classes and lectures by small olive oil producers who will
