Festival del Gusto in Senigallia this September

The Festival del Gusto events are primarily a celebration of small ethical producers of food, wine and olive oil producers in Italy, Malta and also the UK. These events aim to bring together producers, consumers and also trade representatives in an informal atmosphere to network and learn more about the produce that is available from them.
The initial Festival on September 14th to be held at the Locanda Strada della Marina near the Adriatic resort of Senigallia will be a unique occasion to meet small artisan producers from the Le Marche region of eastern Italy and to taste some typical food, wine and olive oil from this very beautiful and unspoilt part of Italy. The Senigallia Festival will be a "taster event" and will be the first of a series of similar events to be held in Italy, Malta and the UK in 2014. The other Festivals will include an event in Cortona,Tuscany, one near Norwich in Norfolk this November and another in Valletta, Malta next May.
Slow Food Norwich together with Slow Food London will be hosting the event in the UK and the events in both Italy and Malta will be organised with the help of Olivaverde who specialises in promoting ethically produced organic extra virgin olive oils and wines.

The Senigallia event will be starting at 4:30pm and will be allowing one hour for our guests to arrive and introduce themselves over a drink.
At around 5.30 there will be a small introduction about the Festival and its main aims and purposes with a small presentation from our guests and hosts with a short description of the evening.
This will be followed by a tutored olive oil tasting which will be run by two of the oil producers that will be attending the Festival. There will then be a workshop about how to correctly taste olive oil  with three or four different varieties to taste on the night.
Later there will be talks and presentations by some of the producers and also the trade visitors present on the evening, which will include artisan producers of organic and biodynamic wines, honeys, meats and cheeses.
To compliment the occasion there will also be free tutored wine tastings of up to five wines all made by small organic producers from the central and southern areas of the Marche region.
The buffet supper prepared by Maurizio Cecilioni, one of Marche's leading chefs, will start at around 8pm and this will have varied types of antipasti and this is then followed by a series of fantastic main courses that will go on being served until our guests will be unable to eat any more!

Malta Food Event in December

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be working on an exciting new event in Malta this December held together with MCA , the Mediterranean Culinary Academy and several Slow Food groups from Italy and other Mediterranean countries. We have been planning to hold an organic and sustainable food event in Valletta the capital of Malta since the Slow Food Mediterranean conference in Valletta last October. The event will mainly be aimed toward promoting small artisan producers from around the Mediterranean region as well as representatives from many of the countries taking part. During the day there will be a series of workshops, talks and pop up street food stands as well as a dedicated kitchen where chefs can prepare dishes which are typical of their home countries. It is hoped that the event can be held outside in the streets close to the beautiful Hastings Gardens, but if this is not possible because of the weather in December then it will be relocated to an indoor venue in another part
