Festivaldelgusto in Marche, Italia

We are very pleased that the Festivaldelgusto at the Castello di Monterado in Le Marche this coming September has proved so popular with both the local Marchgiani producers and also with our many overseas guests this year. We now have our maximum of fourteen local artisan producers and unfortunately we have had to turn down some fantastic local producers as we are fully booked for space, but next year we are planning that we will be able to have up to twenty five artisan producers at this prestigious event in Le Marche.
This year the Festival organisers had the choice of several excellent venues where they could hold the event but it was decided to hold it again in the Ancona province of Le Marche, and we were pleased that with the help and encouragement of the owner of the Castello di Monterado that we were able to base this years Festival at this beautiful historic castle in the village of Monterado near the Adriatic resort of Senigallia.
The Marche producers have also proved very keen to be involved with this years Festival, some are coming for the first time and others are returning after taking part in the event in 2013,and we are very grateful for all their support over the past months.

Now that all the producers we can accommodate this year are confirmed we can now give some outline details of all these great small Marchigiani producers who will be at the Festival and also a small bio about each of them and their businesses.
There will be several excellent Marchigiani wine producers present including La Fontursia from Ripatransone, Terra Cruda from Fratte Rosa, Vini Venturi from Castelleone di Suasa, Terradisanginesio from San Ginesio and also our special guest the fine producer, Elio Savelli.
There will be the wonderful beers from Birra Prosit as well as fine organic olive oils and wines from Galiardi in Cartoceto, and in fact Giordano Galiardi with the help of  was involved with the Urbino 2014 Project this year at which Journalism students from the US visited producers and then wrote articles about food and drink producers and other businesses as part of their course work.
We are pleased that Giorgio Poeta from Fabriano with his fantastic Poeta  honeys and the girls from Amaltea in Senigallia, the makers of fine preserves, jams and liquors will be with us again as well as the fine Chocolate maker Mencarelli from Castelplanio.
There will be a wide range of smoked meats including a wide range of Salame, Pancetta and other typical Marche foods from Macelleriacappella and also a selection of truffle sauces from Cianni Tartufi e Figli
Our friend Debora from Fano will also be be present at the Festival, though not a food producer she is involved in recycling and reusing leathers to make beautiful bags, these leathers would otherwise go to waste and her small buisness, La Collezione di Pressede was also featured in an article produced as part of the Urbino 2014 project earlier this year.

We have been planning to hold an organic and sustainable food event in Valletta the capital of Malta since the Slow Food Mediterranean conference in Valletta last October. During the day there will be a series of workshops, talks and pop up street food stands as well as a dedicated kitchen where chefs can prepare dishes which are typical of their home countries. It is hoped that the event can be held outside in the streets close to the beautiful Hastings Gardens, but if this is not possible because of the weather in December then it will be relocated to an indoor venue in another part
