Festivaldelgusto and Slow Food

Festivaldelgusto works closely with many food and drink producers both in Italy and also in the UK with the aim of  promoting them and their produce to a wider public and as part of this activity we now also cooperate closely with the International Slow Food organisation in both these countries.
We are pleased that at the next Festivaldelgusto in Le Marche, Italy on Septmber 27th that as well as having over twenty wine and food producers present we will also have Slow Food Marche, Slow Food Ancona and Conero, Slow Food Anglia from the UK and hopefully Slow food Holland take part.
Slow Food Marche has established close links to Slow Food Anglia as they both contain large fishing communities within the regions they represent and Festivaldelgusto is part of the structure they will use to hold tours, events and workshops in their respective countries.
Festivaldelgusto is also one of the main supporters of Slow Food Anglia events which they hold throughout the east of England in the UK, this year these include the Forgotten Food Festival at the FirePitCamp in Norfolk, the Norwich Lanes July Fair in the city of Norwich and several other events which includes the prestigious Slow Food Seafood and Oyster Festival in Colchester in September.

Our event in Italy in September will be held at the Castello di Monterado where we also held our popular and successful event in 2014, in 2015 this will also include a repeat of the olive oil workshop which will be given by local oil producers. The Festival in Le Marche started in 2013 and has rapidly grown in both size and popularity, this year will see several more local artisan producers including another organic olive oil company which specialises in producing both blended and single variety oils.
In the UK as well as the Slow Food forgotten food festival in June another major Festival will be held in Colchester in Essex at the beginning of September, this will be a joint Slow Food Anglia and Food and Drink Festivals UK company event and we at Festivaldelgusto will be helping the Slow Food team with the logistics of holding a large event featuring seafood and oysters from that part of the Essex coast. Slow Food chefs and members from the Le Marche region of Italy are also taking part at the event and will be cooking mussels using recipes from that part of eastern Italy, this will be an exciting new cooperation between the UK Slow Food and the Italian Slow Food groups.
Festivaldelgusto is very pleased to be helping both teams in the UK with this event with more news and details about this unique Festival on both the Slow Food Anglia and also on this Blog over the next few weeks as the plans unfold.

Malta Food Event in December

Festivaldelgusto are very pleased to be working on an exciting new event in Malta this December held together with MCA , the Mediterranean Culinary Academy and several Slow Food groups from Italy and other Mediterranean countries. We have been planning to hold an organic and sustainable food event in Valletta the capital of Malta since the Slow Food Mediterranean conference in Valletta last October. The event will mainly be aimed toward promoting small artisan producers from around the Mediterranean region as well as representatives from many of the countries taking part. During the day there will be a series of workshops, talks and pop up street food stands as well as a dedicated kitchen where chefs can prepare dishes which are typical of their home countries. It is hoped that the event can be held outside in the streets close to the beautiful Hastings Gardens, but if this is not possible because of the weather in December then it will be relocated to an indoor venue in another part
